As most of us wrap up warm, we know that the numbers of animals at risk will dramatically increase. With rising food costs, pets that have simply outgrown their home and animals with owners that are no longer fit and able to care for them will lead to animals across the country growing cold, hungry and falling ill. Please help us make a special effort to ensure that animal rescue centres can cope with the continued influx of abandoned pets in the coming months. As a friend and animal lover, I know you’ll understand why I need to make this urgent appeal. Animal rescue centres must be ready to save the thousands of cats, dogs, ponies and other trusting animals who’ll be abandoned by their owners, or rescued from cruel and dreadful conditions. We’ve seen enough sadness and heartache already in 2020.
